Moscow was founded in 1147 by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky and was the capital city of Russia untill 1712 when Peter the Great moved the capital to newly founded St.Petersburg.
Under Lenin, in 1918, the capital was moved back to Moscow. Much of Moscow was as dirty and run-down as other cities in Russia. It was not until 1995 when then, new major Yuri Lujkov started to invest in the cleanup of this historic city. Now, Moscow is a prosperous, clean, booming metropolis, with a population of 11 million people.
A 2-day trip includes visits to Kremlin, the Armoury, Diamond Fund, Pushkin Art Museum, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, and a city-tour.
